
The National Conference on “Building Resilient Communities: Integrating Psychology, Social Work and English Literature” was held on March 3rd, 2026, at Newton Hall, organized by the Hindustan College of Arts & Science. The inaugural session featured a welcome address by Dr. R. Sakthi Prabha and a principal’s address by Dr. Uthira D, with further felicitations provided by Mr. David Ryan M. The Chief Guest, Dr. N. Janardhana from NIMHANS, Bangalore, delivered a keynote address that set the stage for an interdisciplinary exploration of resilience. Following the inauguration, plenary speakers Dr. Jeyavel and Dr. Elizabeth Alexander shared expert insights, leading into a series of paper presentations where researchers and students exchanged ideas across the three core academic disciplines.
The program concluded with a formal valedictory ceremony, where Dr. Susan Verghese delivered a felicitation address and a conference report was presented by Ms. Ilakkiah. A significant highlight of the afternoon was the official Souvenir Release, followed by the distribution of Best Paper Awards and certificates to recognize outstanding academic contributions. The event reached its finale with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. M. Amirtha, Head of the Department of Psychology. By successfully integrating the perspectives of literature, social work, and psychology, the conference provided a holistic platform for understanding community strength and fostering professional growth among all participants
