Get To Know Us
The Cadet Corps Committee was formed on 29 September 1946, with Pt. H. N. Kunzru as its Chairman. The committee held six meetings in South Block, New Delhi. Sub-committees were formed and sent on study tours across major provinces of pre-independent India, including regions that are now part of Bangladesh and Pakistan. One sub-committee also visited Great Britain and France from 15 February 1947 to 31 March 1947 to study youth and cadet organizations in those countries.
Aim of NCC
The aims of the NCC, laid out in 1988, have stood the test of time and continue to meet the needs of the current socio-economic scenario. The NCC aims to:
- Develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service among young citizens.
- Create a pool of organized, trained, and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life.
- Provide leadership in all walks of life and ensure readiness to serve the nation.
- Motivate young people to pursue careers in the Armed Forces.
- Promote patriotism, unity, and national integration among youth.
- Encourage participation in community service and social causes.
- Provide exposure to a disciplined lifestyle and understanding of the Armed Forces
- Promote physical fitness and a spirit of adventure through NCC activities and camps.
Moto of NCC
The need for a motto for the Corps was discussed in the 11th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting held on 11 August 1978. Various suggestions were considered, including “Duty and Discipline,” “Duty, Unity and Discipline,” and “Unity and Discipline.”
The final decision to adopt “Unity and Discipline” as the NCC motto was taken in the 12th CAC meeting held on 12 October 1980
Our Vision
To develop disciplined, responsible, and patriotic youth who are physically fit, mentally strong, and ready to serve the nation. The vision of the NCC Army Wing is to nurture leadership qualities and inspire young people to contribute positively to society and national security.

Objectives of NCC

- To mould young people into responsible and patriotic citizens who can contribute positively to society
- To strengthen unity and harmony among the youth of different regions, religions, and cultures of India
- To provide a suitable environment that motivates young people to join the Indian Armed Forces such as the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force.
- To inspire cadets to participate in social service, community development, and nation-building activities.
